How to photograph items for an evaluation

Clear photos let us give you a useful answer the first time. Phone photos are fine. Include:

  • The whole item, front and back, in good light
  • Close-ups of any signature, label, maker’s mark or hallmark
  • Any damage, repairs or wear
  • For an estate: a wide shot of each room as it is — please don’t sort or throw anything away first
  • The property location, so we can plan a visit

Common questions

What kinds of items do you buy?

We buy high-value items with real resale demand: fine art, antiques, jewelry and watches, gold and sterling silver, designer and mid-century furniture, bronze sculpture, Native American jewelry, pottery, rugs and blankets, advertising signs, antique toys, and collections. Not sure about yours? Send photos and we will give you an honest answer.

Is there a minimum value?

Generally, yes. We look for individual items with a resale value of roughly $500 or more, or collections and estates totaling $2,000 or more. Not sure what you have? Send photos anyway — we will give you an honest answer either way.

What do you NOT buy?

We do not buy ordinary used household goods. We only buy or consign items that are collectible, name-brand, or carry real resale value and market demand. In a complete clearout, everyday contents are still handled as part of the service: usable items are donated and the rest is disposed of.

Do you buy everything in the house?

No — and it is the most common misunderstanding about what we do. We buy or consign items with enough resale value. In a complete clearout, the remaining contents are donated or disposed of as part of the service, so you still end up with an emptied property.

Do you buy entire estates or storage units?

Yes. We buy whole estates and entire storage units in a single transaction, as well as individual high-value pieces. For a storage unit, you meet us at the facility to let us through the gate and open the unit. Units in lien status must sell through the facility’s own auction; we cannot buy those directly.
